Welcome to all students, parents, and fellow faculty members of the School of Arts and Entertainment. I am privileged and honored to serve as your counselor for the 2017/2018 academic year. As your high school counselor, I am excited to be able to listen, help, and serve all enrolled students. Please do not hesitate to come to me for assistance. Together, we will make this a great year and a great school.

Seniors - Finalize your college list. Pay close attention to all of your college deadlines; work on collecting letters of recommendations and personal statement and begin your scholarship search


·UC and CSU applications available online.

UC -


·  Cal State application filing period: October 1-November 30.

·  UC application filing period: November1-30.

·  November 30th is the application deadline for Cal States & UC’s.


·- March/April – Admission decisions arrive.

May 1 – Candidate reply date mandatory (with deposit). Plan for orientation dates and placement tests. (for all colleges). 

·  If you haven't yet taken SAT or ACT, you need to do so by December!



Freshman – Finalize your high school four-year plan. Begin to participate in extracurricular activities and begin finding something you are passionate about like dance, music, art and/or drama. Begin to participate in community service projects and volunteer work. Remember to keep a record of your time. (Ask for a letter for your records).

Sophomore – All sophomores will take the PSAT in October to prepare for the SAT. Begin working on your college list.


Juniors – Retake the PSAT in October and register for the SAT second semester for the Subject and Reasoning test. Register for the ACT second semester. Refine your college list. Students will also retake the ASVAB test to develop career exploration.
