Announces 2014/2015 Performing Arts Season
Pomona, Ca - The School of Arts and Enterprise (The SAE) is pleased to announce its 2014-15 Performing Arts Season, the first, comprehensive program-wide Production Season in the school’s 11-year history. Composed of unique productions in state of the art venues throughout the San Gabriel Valley, the 2014-2015 Performing Arts Season is truly something completely different.
The 2014-15 Performing Arts Season features everything from acclaimed plays to The SAE’s Award Winning Dance Program, Broadway musicals, a dynamic rock concert at one of Southern California’s most popular venues and performances from The SAE’s newly created Vocal Ensemble.

Phil Miller, Executive Producer of The SAE added, “The SAE is an artistic training ground, ready to break out in the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities. We are thrilled to take our students to some of the most professional and stunning venues in our area and continue our residency at the newly renovated Studio Theatre at The Downtown Center, located in the Historic Arts Colony in downtown Pomona.”
Beginning in October, with performances through May 2015, The SAE ‘s student artists will produce the following dynamic and diverse slate of work:
Laughing My Improv Off: The School Edition
Come laugh with The SAE’s Department of Theatre Arts. No one know what is going to happen, but the show is guaranteed to make your side hurt from laughter! Zany, crazy, PG-16-ish humor will get the Studio Theatre rocking as some of our most skilled improvisational artists take you on wild ride of fun! at The Studio Theatre at the Downtown Center
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged
Thirty seven plays in 90 Minutes. Join The SAE’s Department of Theatre for their unique production of a fast paced romp through the Bard. Madcap men in tights will weave their wicked way through Shakespeare’s comedies, histories and tragedies in one performance that will leave you breathless. & at The Studio Theatre at the Downtown Center
A Holiday Cabaret
The SAE’s Vocal Ensemble will help ring in the holidays with the sounds of the season. Some of The SAE thmost gifted vocalists will warm your heart in this glorious night of song featuring classic holiday music in an intimate setting. at The Studio Theatre at the Downtown Center
Shift: A Dance Concert
The SAE’s Department of Dance is proud to present a highly entertaining dance production. Our dancers will take the stage at the multi million-dollar Walnut High School Performing Arts Center in a performance that combines movement, storytelling and heart. at the Walnut High School Performing Arts Center
The One Day #Stress Fest
One Day - 1,440 Minutes - 86,400 Seconds - total play creation. Four teams have 24 hours to write, rehearse and create an original World Premiere play. Miss Nelson in Missing!
A Free Theatre for Young Audiences production, this performance features Miss Nelson, who can’t control her crazy classroom -- because she’s just too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention loving, recess-canceling, homework overloading substitute teacher, Viola Swamp! The SAE Jams
Join The SAE’s artists, bands and unique music performance ensembles as they blow the roof off of the historic Glass House in Downtown Pomona. We like our music loud - we like our rock heavy - and we love our bands. February/March 2015 at The Glass House
Merrily We Roll Along
The SAE presents Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical, Merrily We Roll Along. Beginning in the present and moving back in time, the play traces the lives of wealthy, jaded composer Franklin Shepard and his two estranged friends through each milestone of lives. This intimate and powerful production brings the Best of Broadway to The Studio Theatre. at & at The Studio Theatre at the Downtown Center
Interdisciplinary: A Post Modern Dance Event
Interdisciplinary is an evening-length, post-modern dance work exploring the relationship between dance and the academic disciplines. The piece will examine the phenomenology of visceral learning, posing the question: what have we lost in disembodied education? Join us for an exploration of our physical practices and our academic journeys. A post-show Talkback session will follow both performances with the creator and student dancers. at at The Studio Theatre at the Downtown Center
The Middle School Theatre Project
In this unique mentorship production, The SAE’s Department of Theatre Arts bridges the gap between our High School and Middle School student actors. Our highly engaged High School junior and seniors work hand in hand with this next generation of actors to bring something unique and powerful to the stage. The Middle School Theatre Project is the creation of community based theatre projects exploring the world and challenges of growing up. A post-show Talkback session will follow the performances.

The School of Arts and Enterprise (The SAE) is a State Board of Education authorized, tuition-free Public Charter Middle and High School. The SAE has a passion for academics and the arts and a distinguished history of producing talented, creative individuals who pursue life with a fervent desire to make a difference. Established in 2003, The SAE was the first visual and performing high school in Pomona, California. The SAE offers a college preparatory academic program for grades 6-12. with a college acceptance rate of 98%. The students participate in interdisciplinary studies, which enables them to succeed in both the arts and academics.
