Course Description

Students will demonstrate understanding of the Common Core State Standards for 6th grade English Language Arts. Studies will include grammar, composition, vocabulary, and skills for reading non-fiction, as well as literary themes and terms used in the study of short stories, novels, and poetry. The theme of effective and purposeful communication will run throughout the school year as they compose autobiographical accounts, correspondences, poetry, and other written works.
